Great staff Tuesday pm and Wednesday but dismissive and "busy" Thursday upon checkout. The hotel was great, clean and comfortable.
Negatives:
The parkade arrangement was a disaster. Almost checked out Wednesday afternoon as i had had it with the validation error not getting fixed after reporting it twice, being told it was all sorted twice, letting down friends Wednesday because i couldn't get out of the parkade and thus couldn't pick anyone up as arranged. That was embarrassing. I was made to feel like I was cheating the system or something when having to buzz and explain each time. Without question, the pass was to be validated for in and out access on tuesday night. Absolutely no excuse for the mix up, and to have it happen again and again. Unimaginable, hope it doesn't happen again.

I loved Halifax and would...
Positives:
All the staff from the hotel and restaurant were welcoming and very friendly. Check-in was a breeze, stored our luggage since we came early. The room itself exceeded our expectations as it was much larger than we thought. Also had a bit of a harbour view which was a bonus. Excellent location, walking distance to most things around the cbd and there were many bus stops just outside of the hotel, which made getting around Halifax in general very easy.
Negatives:
We stayed for 6 nights. They have a policy where they clean the room every 3rd day for stays of more than 4 nights. You can otherwise request for new towels and bathroom amenities, which we did on the 3rd night. Housekeeping seemed to miss our room, so we informed reception staff before heading out for the day (having already stayed 4 nights here). Came home from our day out and our room was still not serviced. When we informed reception staff once more, our room was serviced immediately.
Only 2 of 3 elevators were working and were always very slow. But doors always seemed to close within 2 seconds of opening.
Wifi was good when it worked, otherwise it seemed to keep cutting off. Connection wasn't very good.
Roadworks and construction around the area all night long. Out of the hotel's control but something to be aware of.

Hotel is very dated and worn. Frequent issues with key cards and when they did work it took several tries to open the door. Given the number of other hotels in the downtown area for similar price points, I would give this one a pass.
