I love BIG COUNTRY INN! I stop and stay for 3 reasons:
1. Location: midway between the SF. Bay Area and LA., across the freeway from Harris Ranch Resort. We eat at the restaurant and enjoy the best steak and prime rib in the state.
2. Spacious, quality, quiet rooms. The beds are wonderfully large. The bathroom is modern, recently upgraded with modern appointments. The bedding and smells nice. The room smells nice.
3. The grounds are well maintained. It is a pleasure to sit near the pool and read a book, while I watch kittens playing.
Negatives:
I wish that breakfast were open later than 08:30 AM.
Breakfast is very good here. I also would prefer to sleep in while traveling.

Sound proofing between rooms not great especially when do many guests seem to get up early. Trucks pull up outside front of room at night. Sound of traffic can be heard but not too badly. Bathroom dated.
