The grounds were very clean and nicely maintained, a security guard was on the premises, and the parking area was well lit.
Guests were required to display a parking permit on their dashboards which kept out unwanted persons. We assume this location was in a previous "bad" area. Attempts to improve both the appearance and safety of the property was noticed and greatly appreciated.
Negatives:
Our room was located across from the ice machine and drink machine. Loud people were congregating there for lengthy times, talking on their phones and being noisy. Next door to our room was a group of people. One of them wailed, cried, and screeched for hours. A security guard was sent to check on the group; one of the guests was disabled. While we do commiserate with those suffering from any disability, we were unable to sleep. So at midnight, we repacked and were sent to another room. The second room faced a major highway and was not quite as refurbished as the first room. We finally fell asleep at 4:00 a.m. when the traffic died down. Unfortunately, we missed breakfast as we slept through it. The manager at the front desk did offer to re open the breakfast service for us as we checked out, but we declined.
