Staff was very nice. Breakfast area was spotless. Gentleman at front counter tried his best. Room was on first floor. Beds were comfortable.
Negatives:
Hotel appears to be in an industrial area, not very conducive for relaxing. Motel was being renovated. Workers started too early, tossing stuff from second floor into dumpster. Toilet rocked on floor. No decaff coffee for my wife who has high blood pressure. Eggs should have had some kind of accompaniment. Potatoes, sausage, or bacon would have been nice. I guess they figured sausage with gravy and biscuits was sufficient. Waffles just don’t cut it anymore.

The proximity of the hotel to the expressway and to Kansas City was great.
The breakfast was fine. The coffee was hot, scrambled eggs were good, and the pancakes were good. It was nice being able to get an orange, too.
Negatives:
I got the sense that this is a facility that is being used as long-term housing for the unhoused, and since I was a woman traveling alone, that made me a little uneasy. This guess was based on the familiarity of the check-in guy with the others there, the familiarity of the people who came in for breakfast with the staff and the food on offer, and a couple of other things.
The room I was assigned was in a separate building, and it was the last room in that structure. I had quite a walk to the ice machine and an even longer one to get breakfast.
I had booked a non-smoking room, but when I walked into my room, it smelled like stale smoke. There was a woman sitting on the balcony above smoking, so I couldn't just turn on the AC to bring in fresh air to make it smell better. There is black mildew running around the perimeter of the tub, and the porcelain in the sink is broken in places. It wasn't possible to position the curtains so that there was no view into the room, factoring in reflections in the mirror.

For what we paid, this place was above and beyond what we expected. Staff was nice and ready to help. The room smelled like the definition of clean when we got there. We had 2 kids with us and had no worries about the cleanliness.
