The location was great for us. The Hampton Inn - Hilton Hotel is near neighborhoods of Port Huron and far away enough so we did not pay the very high rates of hotels on the St. Clair River.
Negatives:
Booking.com that took our money when we wanted to engage directly with Hampton Inn - Hilton Hotels. Booking.com increased our price by putting in their slice of our dollars. Internet booking cheat people.

There is not much to like. The ceiling in the pool area pours water when it rains. When staff was told he laughed and said just think of it as a water fall. They do not clean the pool at all if anything just add chlorine. The chlorine was so strong I had a headache and my eyes were burning just going in to the pool area. 9 am went to go get breakfast and they were out of everything. After waiting about 15 mins I had a muffin and continued my day. The next morning. The food coming from the back to the buffet style area for breakfast was ice cold. Had to take it to my room to heat it up in the microwave. The beds are uncomfortable as all get out. Completely over priced. Poor service. Nasty all around very unhappy and felt like a waste of money.

Ample free parking. Fresh ice water available in the lobby for free. Desk was manned at all times. Was at least one restaurant and one convenience store within walking distance.

Carpet was dirty, facilities were dirty, furniture was old and dusty. Place smelled like cigarettes.
