It was dark, we couldn’t understand any of the staff, we were walked in on by the person that was in the adjoining room and startled. And there was a very pungent smell in the hallways of marijuana.

The hotel was very uncomfortable...
Positives:
Location was good for what I was doing on my trip. Liked not paying extra for WiFi. Housekeeping staff was outstanding. My room was clean and well cared for.
Negatives:
Front desk staff were exceptionally unhelpful. I was not told anything about WiFi or breakfast upon checking in and they were not particularly friendly at any time. The breakfast area was confusing. It was laid out like other hotel breakfast areas except there were never any plates or napkins out. And the dairy case was always locked. And I was charged for each item I took to eat. This all should have been easier to use and should have been included in my room rate as is done in other hotels of this value level.

Nice and comfortable. Close to Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan, clubs, museums, theatres and parks. Mostly friendly staff. Quite big room with a nice view.
Negatives:
The cleaning of the floors in the room wasn’t great. The snack bar and the bar weren’t very exciting. But plenty of food and drink close by though.

Positives:
Excellent location with the convenient access to all of New York via an excellent network of public transport. Subway stations were a 3 - 10 minute walk, and the mix of lines available means that all of New York is available with at the most one transfer. There is also a great mix of high-end and cheap eats around the hotel. The whooshing sound you hear is not the wind, it's the subway!
