despite being 28 degrees the pool was shut and a rather rude man told me to get out. shame they didn’t tell you this when checking on. room cleaned every three days, again not explained, and could do with a deep clean given dust under bed and broken glass on floor from previous guests. noisy during day if you were trying to get a rest, with drilling in other rooms and fire alarms going off. didn’t really find the staff very helpful.

Hotel itself was ok , and position was perfect, it was clean and a lot of the staff were very pleasant
Negatives:
Housekeeping was a little haphazard, one day room not cleaned another forgot to replenish coffee and cups. Having a drink in the bar one evening and asked to move ( not that politely) as the table had been reserved ( no sign on the table) .Room itself was small but understand that is normal for New York , but could have done with a bit more storage space

Initially we were put in a room on a floor where they were doing construction/renovations
There was a builder sawing and drilling on the balcony next door
We asked to be moved and they graciously did so, just not sure why anyone would be allocated a room next to all that noise & building work going on

Positives:
The friendly staff and great location. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed the restaurant and bar area.
Negatives:
It’s very expensive. As an Australian visiting New York (my daughter lives in a tiny apartment close to the Arlo so I couldn’t stay with her), staying in hotels is almost prohibitive. Perhaps a deal for a long stay could be offered?
