The room was never cleaned during our stay and trash was overflowing, beds unmade and towels dirty, not to mention the hairdryer had some sticky film on it. We found out the hotel was under renovation after we arrived, with only one elevator working and materials sitting in lobby. Fitness center also virtually nonexistent as it was under renovation and looked nothing like hotel’s photos of it.
We would never have stayed here if we knew this hotel was undergoing repairs in advance. It should have been noted on the website.

Location was good for visiting Mount Pleasant area and also it is a fairly easy drive into Charleston.
Free parking on site.
Negatives:
Property is under renovation so some facilities such as laundry are not available and there were workmen, cables and equipment and noise all over reception and breakfast area. This was not notified in advance and no reductions were offered.
Rooms are only serviced on request but we were not told this on arrival

I booked here because it had a fire pit area that I was looking forward to hanging out by, but the area was locked up pretty early in the evening. The front desk agents also didn’t offer any information about the amenities and services without me asking.

Phone in room did not work. When we called desk to report it she hung up. When he called back to read her the Hilton pledge if they could do anything to make your stay better she hung up. No clock in room. She said when the remodeled they removed all the clocks! Next morning a nice young man was on desk and was astounded that we were in a room where the phone did not work and when we explained what had happened he aplogized.
