DoubleTree by Hilton Deadwood at Cadillac Jacks

Negatives: We chose the hotel for breakfast & the pool - breakfast was surprisingly not included, though listed on the website in amenities & we aren't even sure the pool was included since our keycards worked for everything but the pool doors, though the hotels website also lists the pool. Maybe it was only accessed for the joint hotel guests? We got in anyway, but the water was extremely cold and the pool room itself, though beautiful with all the windows, is looking worn -lots of broken tiles, peeling paint & rust. The pool room was also out of towels so we had to go to the desk to ask for more & instead of refilling the entire cart, the person working just asked how many towels we needed, so I asked for more to leave a few extra for others since there was at least 15+ people there both times we went swimming. The hotel room was nice enough, though the bathroom sink drain was not connected, so my husband worked on it to release the drain after it got pushed down & the shower drain was also not in great condition as the water filled up to the rim of the shower pan before a person could finish a regular length shower. We had to turn the water off & on between shampoo/conditioner so it wouldn't overflow. Parking lot is a nightmare for larger vehicles.

Negatives: It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee/tea other than the single cup in the room. The “piped in scent” in the hallway was overpowering.

Negatives: Nothing.

Negatives: $15.00 parking fee. We feel if you are staying there parking should be free or at least just the initial entry.

Negatives: The room we booked was advertised having 1 king bed, 1 full bed and 1 sofa bed. But when we got there, we were given a room with a king bed and 1 sofa bed. We went to the front desk to clarify the issue. Receptionist was responsive but was quite rude. They told us that booking.com misadvertised the room and that they are not affiliated whatsoever with booking.com and that we should book directly with them the next time we decide to stay at Doubletree. She was helpful enough to get us a room with 2 queen beds.

Negatives: Parking was tight and to little parking spots.

Negatives: We had to wait two hours past check in because they were short staffed. This caused us to cancel our dinner reservations. The room walls and doors were filthy, no hot water in shower or sinks, and either pillows or comforter was worn/torn, for we constantly had feathers all over us.
