The newly renovated Rochester Hotel, built in 1892, offers 15 luxurious rooms with high ceilings and private bathrooms. The Rochester Hotel is situated on a beautifully landscaped site, featuring a flower-filled courtyard. Rooms are decorated in Old West motif inspired by Western movies filmed in the Durango area. Movie posters framed in marquee lights line the hallways: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Around the World in Eighty Days, and City Slickers among them. The Rochester Hotel was designated as "The Flagship Hotel of Colorado" by Conde Nast Traveler in 1996.The Leland House and Rochester Hotel are located in the heart of downtown Durango, one block off historic Main Avenue and just steps away from the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and various outdoor activities.
