Visit beautiful Rehoboth Beach and enjoy the sun, sand, water and boardwalk shops! Dogs are not permitted from April 1st - October 31st.
Pack up your pooch and head out to Dewey Beach! Watch for dolphins, enjoy watersports, relax on the sand and more. There is a veterinary hospital nearby and plastic bags are available by beach enterance. Dogs must be licensed with the Town (may be obtained at Town Hall) at a one-time cost of $15.00 unless lost (replacement license is also $15.00) before going on the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach from 9:30am - 5:30pm during the Summer Season of May 15th - September 15th. Other than that, dogs are welcome but they must be on-leash at this beach.
People, pets and vehicles must stay off dunes. Cross only at designated pedestrian or vehicular crossings. Pets are permitted in some areas but must be kept on a leash and be attended at all times. Pets are not permitted on swimming beaches from May 1 to Sept. 30. People, pets and vehicles may not enter designated bird nesting areas. Fenwick Island State Park is a 3-mile stretch of barrier island that lies between Bethany Beach to the north and Fenwick Island to the south.
Pet are prohibited from all swimming and sunbathing beaches from May 1 to September 30. Park rules and regulations also restrict pets from areas such as surfboarding and sailboarding beaches and shorebird nesting areas. The sandy dunes found along the coast are very fragile and are protected by law. Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet long except for designated off-leash beach areas. To access beaches open to pets, use the pedestrian crossings located at designated parking areas. Pets are not permitted on bathhouse boardwalks. At Gordon’s Pond and Fenwick Island, access is limited to the pedestrian dune crossing located at the northern end of the parking lot. Boundary markers for areas open or closed to pets will typically be designated by signs posted at the seaward toe of the dune. The signs will be located at the extreme boundaries of the closed areas, unless affected by adverse tidal conditions.
This is an incredible beach and beach town with lots to do. The beach area is simply beautiful! Dogs are allowed to stroll the beach with you on-leash from October 1 - May 14. Don't forget the poop bags and the water!
