The Portage Glacier is a spectacular place to visit with your dog. It is located in the scenic Chaugach National Forest and reaches 100 feet into Portage Lake. Great viewing from hiking trail along the lake. The visitor center is open May through September. Dogs are welcome throughout the park. However, they are not allowed on the boat tours. Dogs must be kept on-leash.
