The Coconino National Forest boasts ten different wilderness areas where visitors can camp, hike, ride on horseback, and watch wildlife. The national forest allows leashed dogs in most areas. Areas where dogs are not allowed include Coconino, Lake Mary Picnic Area, Lava River Cave, and Red Mountain Trail.
