Petrified Forest National Park

Get a glimpse of ancient history at the Petrified Forest National Park. Hike the trails or go backpacking in the wilderness area with your favorite furry friend. Pets must be leashed whenever they are outside of a vehicle. Dogs are permitted in all areas of the park except for buildings and areas closed to the public. Park officials do ask that pets are kept on the trails when hiking: do not allow your dog to interact with wildlife or approach nests or burrows.
