Shell Ridge Open Space Recreation Area is the largest open space in the City of Walnut Creek. There are trails for hiking through the woods and grasslands. Shell Ridge was formed when the ocean water receded and left behind fossils from the marine life. Please have your pooch on a leash and clean up after him.
