The Effigy Mounds Natural Monument features a whopping 2,526 acres of outdoor space to explore. It also offers a great cultural experience for those who wander down its trails. There are 206 Native American mounds to see, many of which are carved in the shape of animals. This is considered a sacred site, and trails are the only access. Leashed pups are permitted throughout the park, however, please bring your doggie bags and clean up after your pooch right away.
