The Dr. Thomas Walker State Historic Site commemorates Dr. Walker, who was the first to explore and survey the area. It is also dedicated to Kentucky's first pioneers, whose brave spirit helped shape the state's history. The site is fun for the whole family -- have a picnic, browse the gift shop, or enjoy some mini-golf. You can even bring Rover -- dogs are allowed throughout the grounds, but they are not permitted to enter buildings. Remember to keep your pet leashed and under your control for your entire visit.
