The Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site is a wonderfully preserved battlefield that somberly commemorates the most destructive battle in the Civil War. Visitors can take a self-guided tour through 7 scenic miles, with markers notating key historical facts along the way. Each October, the infamous battle is reenacted on the grounds. Bring your leashed pet to the event or on the trails -- just note that they are not allowed in buildings.
