Bass Harbor Lighthouse is one of Maine's most famous and picturesque lighthouses. Set atop a lonely and ruggedly beautiful cliff, against a backdrop of dark green evergreens, it embodies the iconic landscapes of the Eastern seaboard. There are also rocks to climb and lanscaped grounds and trails to explore. The grounds are open year round, and dogs are welcome to visit. Just make sure your dog is leashed and under your control, and that you bring your fresh water for yourself and your dog.
