Positives:
Great location 70's property weathered storms of COVID & recent blizzard. Great food, keeping great tradition set as a Red Lion. Now needs some post 911 Homeland security safety upgrades. Too pet friendly need balance before it's too unfriendly 4 people.
Negatives:
Saturday afternoon 01/27/24 at checkin hotel &surrounding properties lost power at 2:51pm. Hotels across the parking lot Oxford Suites had power back within a couple hours. Holiday Inn at 7:00PM had an estimate 10hr time frame before restored power.

the hotel/resort was a relaxing time, we were able to extend our stay with no problems. the staff is very kind and professional and the 24 hr property security co. makes you feel at ease so you can totally relax. They did a good job with the new designing

The staff was excellent and the security in parking lot was a welcome site as we returned from a New Year celebration at 2:00 am elevators were a little slow but maybe just a sign that we all just need to slow down

Took forever to just get warm water for a shower. Also asked staff for a late check out and they did not enter in the system and I ended locked out of my room with all my things in it still.

The view of the river and the restaurant.
Negatives:
Nothing that can be helped; Portland is full of crime. For the area, I think the hotel is nestled in a better part but there were a couple miscreant-type individuals that security calmly and kindly moved along in the poorly lit parking lot (kudos to them)

I worked thier in the 80's and made managment and yused to be room service manager. When it was the Red lion Jantzen beach. so I choose to go thier every time I'm in Portland. Now it's the Holiday Inn.I alway's get a room over looking thje columbia river

When I first went in to the room thier was a moskito on the bathroom wall, and aspider web up in corner which tookm pictures of and also some spilt cofee or wine on the patio, thought that should have been cleaned up. the bathroom under the sink they clea
