The building is not meant to be a hotel. You can hear everything the other guests in the room upstairs or adjacent to you do including talking, walking, taking a shower and even flushing the toilet!!
The shower situation was not great either. The water pressure was low and the temperature was fluctuating a lot. I burned myself a couple times terribly as the water got super hot abruptly.
Also I found a chunk of soil/dust/plants in my bath tub 4 out of 6 days that I stayed there. It fell from the fan in the bathroom which made the whole tub muddy. Every time this happened, I also found a cockroach in the bathroom which made the shower situation extremely unpleasant!

cute room. free coffee at the shop which was excellent.

Bathroom was gross. old bathtub. no area to put items to get ready in the morning. Sink was super small. And the bedding / blankets were meager. I had to ask for another blanket. It wasn't great.

being close to the Berkley campus, close to restaurants, small room but decent, big tv, clean room
Negatives:
a lot of noise coming from the hallway in the rooms, the complementary coffee and water was provided only in the first days, the electrical and ventilation system of the hotel was quite noisy.
