Positives:
i liked that they were green and didn’t have plastic bottles of water. the common area was clean and the room was clean except for hair found in sink.
Negatives:
staff was slow… didn’t really feel efficient.. just on their own time. took 15mins to check in. when i left the hotel at 5am, the staff (gentleman) behind the desk was fully asleep snoring…. very unprofessional. never have seen that.

Positives:
Close to UCLA. friendly front desk.
Negatives:
No elevator. Sparse breakfast. No decaf coffee. Pushy about valet but didn’t need it. When I asked, did inform about street and garages but reluctant. Rooms very small. $7 water in room.

Positives:
It’s OK for a very fast trip. It is a lit help yourself even the staff is not very willing to help. Is like renting a room in a hostel.
Negatives:
Not very attentive their staff

Very good
Positives:
The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. The room design is well done. It's giving modern vintage apothecary vibes. It's a very cute boutique hotel, which I enjoy over chain hotels. The lobby has complimentary coffee, tea, and water, which is a nice touch. The location was great for us.
Negatives:
You could not stream apps on the TV which could be an easy fix. I thought they offered pastries in the mornings, but I did not see them available. The valet was very slow because there was one guy running back and forth, and it seemed like the cars were parked kinda far. Keeps these guys in shape!

Cute boutique hotel in a...
Positives:
So, I've been to my fair share of hotels around the world. Was looking for a place in LA that didn't break the bank but was still decent and in a good spot. This hotel seemed like it hit the mark, but then I saw some mixed stuff in the reviews, especially on Google, which made me second guess (I'm from Europe so take this with the grain of salt)
We ended up staying here for over 10 days, and now that I've seen a lot of what LA has to offer, here's my two cents:
Area: It's safe, at least for LA. It's pretty much on a university campus, plus you've got Target, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods just a short walk away.
Location: Pretty spot-on. 2 mins off the freeway, a quick drive to Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica.
Parking: Managed to find street parking almost every night
Hotel: Clean and cozy, no complaints here, boutique-like (but American :))
Staff: Mostly friendly folks. The manager had her grumpy moments, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Wasn't expecting the red carpet or anything.
Price: For when we stayed, it was a steal. Would've cost us 3x more anywhere else.
Negatives:
Now, downsides
Noise: Yeah, the walls are kinda thin. Could hear the neighbors, but luckily they were chill.
Breakfast: Don't expect a feast. It's just coffee, bananas, and a croissant. Still, not too bad.
Room size: We booked the regular one, I think I'd upgrade next time as it was too small comparing to regular European standard
That's about it. I'd give it a solid 9 mark if you're searching for a decent European-looking "value for the money" hotel in Los Angeles.

Exceptional
Positives:
Location was great, able to walk to Westwood Village. Liked the coffee maker in the lobby. Able to find street parking close by without having to pay the valet. One staff member (working the front desk over the weekend) was friendly.
Negatives:
So much could have been better. For a "boutique hotel with an international reputation" the quality/standard of service was well below what I have experienced at other properties. Felt more like an upscale hostel/2 star hotel. Plenty of little things to nit pick about--1 tiny bathroom trash can for the whole room, no elevator, room turnover was underwhelming (beds not neatly made, rags left in room, trash not collected), stools as bedside tables, no tea or coffee in room--but to focus on the biggest issues: numerous staff members were at best unhelpful and at worst rude. We found mold stains (yes, actual mold stains) on 3 of the pillowcases on my sister's bed (right under the in-wall split air conditioning unit). There was also mold on the shower curtain. We brought the pillows down to show the staff and took pictures. The manager said she didn't believe us, said "no, look at our reviews, we're always very clean." Asked us in a frustrated tone, "what's it going to take to make you happy" (um kindness and good customer service, not a lot to ask here). Amenities laughably over-priced (spa treatments, for example). Only valet parking or metered street parking.
I have stayed in dozens of properties in LA, some with lower "star" rating. Literally no chance I would stay at this property again.
