Grand Hotel

Negatives: On my arrival the elevator was working only sporadically. I asked the desk clerk that checked me in to direct me to the stairs. SHE SAID THERE WERE NO STAIRS. I told her there had to be a staircase somewhere. She just said she was sorry and walked off. I was about to check back out of the hotel when another guest said she found the stairs and directed me to them. Over the next two days i asked the other desk clerks where the stairs were and they all knew where they were located. ................................................................................................................................. even though it was a non smoking hotel, there seemed to also be a stale cigarette odor in all the halls

Negatives: Mysterious black sticky stuff on one of the armchairs. Breakfast in main building had a small choice. Not a good ambiance for breakfast

Negatives: Breakfast is very dull, and the water pressure at the villas are quite low.

Negatives: The heater is broken. It kept sending cold air out. The room could be cold during winter.

Negatives: Breakfast is minimal. the hotel and rooms are out-dated and old. Bad was big but old and not that comfort. Rooms are getting cleaned very late in the day so had to waive it once back to work and room was not cleaned yet. overall- it was grand many years ago.

Negatives: Several items in the suite work inoperable! The fireplace didn’t work for 24 hours out of the 2 nights we were there. The bathroom had a big chunk of porcelain missing and the stopper to retain water was missing as well! The floor boards in the whole suite were filthy as was the bathroom floor! The upholstery on the chairs in the living room area were spotted with stains! Our door keys didn’t work but for 1 night! It was good we tried to stay put the second day! The weekend staff is unsustainable! Just 1 person at the front desk and no one speaks English or knows what a blanket is, versus a mattress cover! I asked for 2 blankets, since the bedroom gets really cold from air coming in thru the windows, and we got 2 mattress covers instead! When I went to the front desk to complain, I was told no management would be back until Monday, our day of check out!! I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past year and have watched it’s decline! Looks good on the outside, but once you come in, you can see it’s a falling house of cards. Just a matter of time before it’s a complete DUMP!!
