Exceptional
Positives:
We loved that it was away from the main part of Waikiki. We loved the proximity to Diamond Head. Our room was large, well appointed, and very clean. The views from our high floor ocean view room were wonderful, as others have noted. especially the view toward Diamond Head, other mountains and the park across the street. The ocean view is decent. The restaurant in the hotel, the Arden, is terrific, but is only open Wednesday-Sunday. The restaurant next door at the Kaimana Beach Hotel is also excellent. The staff are super nice and helpful.
Negatives:
Would be good if they offered breakfast, but we made do by getting food at the convenience store in the Kaimana & had an excellent, albeit very expensive, breakfast/brunch there one morning.

Terrific stay, highly recommend
Positives:
Great location, easy 10 min walk to Waikiki, and close to Diamond Head. Easy access by road (cheap parking on the road in front). Just around the corner from Kaimana Beach so it’s easy to get a bit of afternoon sunbathing or an early morning swim. The little extras like wine hour on weekdays and the reusable water bottles to take home were a nice touch. Staff were always friendly and greeted us every day with a smile.
Negatives:
Minor things, if I’m being picky, so won’t mention them here. If you are going to park on the road, just be aware weekend afternoons are very busy with beach visitors and sports, so you may not get a park - we managed to find one on Saturday at the Waikiki Shell.l across the park. Otherwise always got a park within 1-2 months walk.

Relaxing stay, convenient location away...
Positives:
We would absolutely stay at the Lotus again, as we love the low-key area and the sweet staff and clean, stylish rooms. The room and the lounge were lovely, and amenities were nice: every night, they had a wine tasting, and coffee in the morning. Being across from the park, near Montserrat Avenue with its cool restaurants, take-out, and coffee spots provided access to less-costly eateries. Beaches weren't mobbed and parking around the area worked out fine.
Negatives:
our only quibble was that the ocean view room faces a parking lot and the lower floors see that more than the ocean. The first room we were shown was unacceptable, plus it was right next to the elevator (that was the only thing we had asked that we not be next to the elevator) -- so they nicely moved us up and over and the room was very nice -- the view of Diamond Head was wonderful too. Also, the cost of valet parking $40 a day is way

A Diamond Head gem
Positives:
The property is i a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the ocean. It is about a 15-minute walk to the busy part of the city and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beach that was only couple of minutes away. The hotel provides beach chairs and towels. Bikes are available at no charge. Coffee is available in the lobby every day.
Wine /happy hour are available from Monday through Friday from 5 PM till 6 PM.
Negatives:
The hotel does not have a pool and jacuzzi. The only option for swimming is the ocean. The water was relatively cold before noon in February. However, it warmed up after 2 PM.
There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it only serves dinner, which is relatively expensive. No breakfast and/or lunch are available in the hotel.

A fabulous location nicely separated...
Positives:
We loved the location…surrounded by parks, walkable to Waikiki but in a much much quieter area, and close to the beaches. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when needed.

Positives:
We reserved a room with ocean view, the view is obstracted by tall buildings.
The room was on 7th floor
Not sure if the higher floor provides an ocean view.
Negatives:
The hotel is well maintained,
But old.

Very good
Positives:
Nothing. This hotel is not what it seems from information online. To say it is a luxurious upscale beachfront property is misleading. It is not directly on the beach and is surrounded on all sides by other buildings. The ocean view is in fact a slither of ocean through the surrounding buildings and our rooms faced onto a parking lot.
Negatives:
Whilst the rooms may have been renovated as the website suggests, the hotel is in fact old and tired and the furnishings were stained and general condition of the building was dirty.
