The maintenance guy who fixed out heat was kind and the cleaning staff does a good job. Room was dated but clean. The pool is beautiful but overcrowded.
Negatives:
We have stayed here in the past and loved their pool. Our daughter is a big fan of swimming and wanted to return for her birthday. We were thrilled with our stay in 2023 and our 2024 visit was horrible.
Here are a few highlights:
1 - UPGRADES. The hotel offered an upgraded room. We accepted via email within minutes of the offer. When we arrived, they said it wasn’t available due to weddings. (How many weddings book within a week of a stay?) The woman at the front desk was just like, “Talk to my manager if that’s an issue.” We just told her that we don’t expect her to kick people out of their rooms and we’d stay with our original room. They shouldn’t have offered an upgrade if they can’t deliver.
2 - ROOM SIZE. The rooms are small. Two full beds. No room for anything and everything is dated.
3 - HEAT WAS NOT WORKING. The room was cold. We turned up the heat and thought it would kick in. We went to bed bundled up. The next morning, it was 64 degrees in the room. (This is February in Chicago). We called and maintenance had to climb into the ceiling to fix the heat.
4 - SHOWER BROKEN. The push button to the shower was gone. It was sitting next to the shower and wouldn’t work when inserted. We had to wash our hair in the faucet.
5 - REPAIR NEEEDED. We woke up at dawn on checkout day just to get out. As we were leaving, there was water bulging on the wall, under the wallpaper.
The whole experience was a nightmare. We used to love this hotel. There was no customer service and the room wasn’t functional. There are other hotels in Chicago at this price point with better service and accommodations.

Location is fantastic - on the Magnificent Mile, walking distance to everything, easy to get all over the city. Great dining all around as well as a robust grocery store around the corner. Spacious rooms, and the pool and gym are fantastic.
