Positives: The Westin River North has a great central location near many riverside attractions. It's not the only hotel in the area by any means, but it's possibly the closest to all the things we care about - mostly many fine and/or famous Chicago restaurants.

Negatives: Someone in an adjacent room (so it seemed) was smoking weed, and the smell was creeping into our room and we don't like the smell much. Fortunately it wasn't overwhelming, just mildly annoying.

Positives: Location is great, right on the river near Magnificent Mile.

Negatives: The room they gave me initially (Room 313) had a very noisy HVAC. When a technician came in, he said it was normal, and that bigger rooms were noisier because thy had bigger HVACs. I asked for another room (Room 1001) and it was very quiet.

Positives: I liked the location to the venue for the Holiday party attended at RPM Events.

Negatives: I could not valet my car. The wait was so long that I barely had time to change to make it to the party. I had to park on the next block dragging my luggage down the street. In the future I have to get there hours before check in time to valet. So because of this I didn't have time to use the $25 food or drink credit I was given at check-in. It expired at 10 that night. I was still at the work event. Too bad I couldn't use it for breakfast.

Positives: Breakfast was delicious, I would have preferred it served hotter as it was barely warm. We enjoyed excellent cocktails at the bar area one or two evenings as well. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. But huge kuddos to the doorman who was absolutely so helpful and welcoming.
