The surrounding area with Ferne Clyffe State Park, Little Grassy Lake, Giant City State Park and Devil's Kitchen Lake are within 25 miles of the hotel, and offer fishing, hunting, boating, hiking and more. Visitors will enjoy shopping at the nearby Illinois Center, one of the largest shopping malls in southern Illinois. The Williamson County Regional Airport and Williamson County Pavilion are less than five miles away. A variety of restaurants and cocktail lounges are located nearby. Room wasn't completely made up. Saw a roach on the wall. A/C unit noisy. Phone on wall in bathroom next to commode. Carpets stained in room, halls, etc. Slept on top of bedding in case of bedbugs. Apparently several or more of the rooms are in a long term rental status. Observed wine coolers sold without check for ID (one of the two openly said they were not of age). Drunk in lower hallway hollering "These rag heads ripped me off". Elevator lighting may as well not existed.

Reminded me of being in the service and finding the cheapest place to stay, regardless of condition.

Very inexpensive place to sleep for a few hours while traveling. Easy and quick access to I-57. The front desk staff was helpful.
Negatives:
Anyone staying here should understand that it is very basic motel. It's not well maintained and has some sketchy clientele. I suspect that the government places low-income/homeless tenants here. You absolutely need to understand this before you stay.
