Breakfast was convenient and varied each day; staff was quite pleasant and extremely helpful, bed was comfortable and we felt well rested, we enjoyed the shuttle to the State Fair, visiting the bridges of Madison County, and meeting many wonderful people of Iowa. We found publications from the Iowa Bureau of Tourism a real help in planning our trip.
Negatives:
The only thing that would have made our visit more enjoyable was to spend more time in Des Moines. A dining room in the hotel would be a welcome addition.

We enjoyed the city, the people, and the hotel. Iowa is a place everyone should consider.

Breakfast was good. Good location to catch shuttle to state fair

Didnt have room ready at 3:15. Called us at 5:30 to say room was ready. When we arrived at 9:30 they said there was no room. Offered to book us somewhere else or wait. After 30 minutes said there was a room if we wanted to wait. Eventually got a room. No soap at sink. Body wash container empty. Hairdryer broken. No drink glasses. Tried to switch days before arrival due to needing to attend a memorial service in area but had difficulty and was double charged. Was able to eventually clear up.
