Quality Inn Newton at I-80

Negatives: Breakfast was unsatisfactory

Negatives: Entry from street was awkward to get into and partially blocked by a semi.

Negatives: Found a few bugs in the room, they were not bedbugs!

Negatives: I was a solo female traveler and I was placed in an adjoining room next to two men. Even though the adjoining door was double locked, I still felt uneasy. The bedspread was dirty as were most of the surfaces, including the floor. There was a mattress protector on the mattress so I could not check for bugs so my luggage stayed in the bathtub all night. There was poor lighting in the bathroom. I have an eye condition that makes it difficult to see in dim lighting so I could not use the shower. Maybe some people like showering in the dark though. I was awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of a woman screaming obscenities at someone on the phone in the hallway because she didn't have what she wanted to eat. I managed to get back to sleep only to be awakened again by the sound of someone or something slamming into the wall near my door. My door did not have the proper locking mechanism on it so I placed a chair in front of it, just in case. I did not sleep much after that as indistinct yelling and arguing continued for quite a while. At 6 am I went to eat breakfast. When I returned, the man from the next room was standing outside my room arguing with the other man in his room. He did move so I could get in but I was so uneasy with my stay at this point that I gathered my things and left before it was even safe for me to drive. I felt safer sitting in the parking lot of the gas station than I did in my room. I had a much more pleasant experience at the Days Inn one week earlier.
