Nice and friendly staff, pretty hotel

The room had a very weird smell. Im not sure what it was but it was noticeable immediately upon entering and remained the entire time. It smelled like mildew and like it was coming from the sink or plumbing. Thankfully we were only in the room to sleep.

The inside was nice even though the building was under construction.
Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was nice to have.

The pool was closed for the season though the website stated the pool was currently open. The pool was the largest reason for booking.
The balcony room I had booked was not what was given.
The Jacuzzi tub was huge but had scratches all along the tub and was very much outdated
Due to all the construction.. parking was cramped and difficult.

The room configuration was above average. Nice to have french doors between the front room and the bedroom.

The construction in the atrium was unsettling. We had plans to take pictures and the bride's dress got dusty just moving from the hotel room to the car. No water bottles in the hotel room. No shampoo. Front desk personnel could have slowed down in their explanations of how things work. English is a second language for my wife and she was already overwhelmed with the wedding that day.

Disappointed but we did not allow it to ruin our special day. Doubletree could have done better

Beautiful old hotel. The interior courtyard is amazing. Even though it is undergoing renovations, you can tell it is upscale for the stay cost.
Negatives:
Somehow, we ended up in a suite. The suite was definitely antiquated and in need of renovation. Hearing the renovation construction noises first thing in the morning was unpleasant.

Did not get email about construction until after booking-- this was our 10 year anniversary, and we were not expecting that.
I believe $200/night is very steep to have no common area and saws running all day.
Our sink didn't drain.
