McIlhenny Company, famous for its Tabasco pepper sauce, is seven miles away. Conrad Rice Mill, America's oldest working rice mill, is also nearby. Tour shallow water swamps, bayous, sloughs and coves by airboat. Visitors can enjoy spying on alligators, deer, nutria, and other Louisiana wildlife while exploring the gardens of Avery Island and bird city, where over 20,000 egrets and other waterfowl nest. The pool was nasty and cold, the room wasnt cleaned the whole time I was there, we had to fight with them to get clean towels and wash cloths. They didnt charge us what they were supposed to when we checked in so they started harassing us about it when they were told to charge everything in full. The staff had their children up there constantly running around. The breakfast wasnt good at all only the waffles.

indoor pool was not what was expected and closed half the time . it was very cold for an indoor pool and breakfast was not good. my granddaughter said waffles tasted like foam and she usually loves waffles
