Welcome to the Holiday Inn and Suites Pittsfield-Berkshires Centrally located in downtown Pittsfield Massachusetts. We are 10 minutes driving time to many corporations such as General Dynamics, Lenco Armored Cars, Lockheed Martin. The spacious accommodations in the rooms was perfect for a family. And the rooms were very clean. The check in wasn’t great- but Daly Grace went out of her way to get us into a room alittle earlier. We had plans and needed to change and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a room to change in!

Positives:
The staff was so friendly and helpful. I came in super early after being at the hospital with a family member. I was tired and sad and the gentleman at the front desk was so helpful. I wish I could remember his name, I was having a hard time and he was so reassuring.
Negatives:
The smell in the hallway was off putting. I'm not sure if it's a cleaner they use or what, but I guess I'm just glad the room didn't smell.

Parking was closed so we had to park a block away and it was freezing out. The hot tub was also closed and we were really looking forward to it. And the worst is the wind outside was making our window whistle so loud it kept us up all night. One of my worst hotel experiences.

We were put on the same floor as loud noisy guests there for an event. Water coming out of the tap had black flecks in it. Terrible, never coming back there.
Positives:
Very pleasant staff, free valet for the car, nice sized room.
Negatives:
The hallways and carpeting were dated. Lighting in the halls was dim, the elevators needed upgrading. ? mold in the bathtub, TV remote didn't work, Kuerig didn't work.

I do not like having the person with the clip board come around BEFORE my checkout time, while I am showering ...So I put on clothes, dripping wet, answer the door... Only to be asked if I will stay another day.
I understand the person is instructed to do this. It makes them and me feel weird pressure. That's not ok that the staff has to do this.
I would KINDLY ADVISE they should only start knocking on doors AFTER checkout time. People should expect a knock if they overstay by even a few minutes.
If this happens again, I will not book at this hotel again.
If I make an agreement to check out at 12, I keep it. Until then, with a do not disturb sign up, I EXPECT to be left alone.
So far, this uncomfortable thing has happened twice.
I want it to stop. I am a great customer and never leave a mess. I have worked in housekeeping and know the housekeeper should be the first one into a tidy room with used towels. They deserve to be the ones to receive all tips. (Cranwell resort was notorious for using this same method, allowing room inspectors and housekeeping supervisors to snag the tips meant for the workers.)
I am not saying the people with the clip board are thieves. I am saying, their presence before my checkout time is unnerving and not necessary.

I don't like getting out of the shower to answer the door for a stranger.
