Positives: Loved the Queensbury! This downtown hotel has an elegant, historic feel (built in 1926), but has been fully renovated with beautiful modern updates. Traveling to upstate New York to witness the Solar Eclipse, we booked two nights: it provided the right mix of comfort and sophistication to make our trip a carefree adventure! Gorgeous lobby and nicely redone rooms. We had drinks and dinner in the Fenimore Pub, which has a warm & casual vibe. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a plus, after a long drive. The location at the gateway to the Adirondacks means we'll definitely be back!
Negatives: Our single room was small - not unexpected in an older hotel, and fine for our needs. But the bathroom could use some counter space or shelving; it was difficult to set down so much as a toothbrush. Also, the toilet was very low, and probably not ADA compliant.

Positives: Perfect location, comfortable lobby and Ray was great.
Negatives: Room a little small. It was comfortable and the view was perfect as it overlooked the park. Just no spot to sit down other than the bed and the desk chair. A small loveseat would be nice for 2 people

Positives: Beautiful, well maintained mansion style hotel. The ornate ceilings, crown molding, decor, and ambiance was sophisticated. The staff were helpful and professional. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the suit was perfect for a family of 5 with the sleeper sofa. The pool and jacuzzi were very clean and the skylight was beautiful with the natural light. We loved that the jacuzzi was within the pool so that we could relax while watching the kids play. We even loved the mail slots on every floor where our kids deposited our postcards to family and friends.
Negatives: Nothing, it was great!

It was lovely.

Positives: The location is great. Staff was friendly. Although we did not use the pool or hot tub, it’s a nice amenity. Having two restaurants on site is nice.
Negatives: The Queensbury hotel used to be a beautiful, traditional hotel. As many traditional hotels do, they’ve made the mistake of trying to modernize and go contemporary and have done so unsuccessfully. Whoever their decorator was did not do a good job in bringing the hotel up-to-date and having it feel good and look nice. From the vinyl flooring in the rooms, to the the three different paint colors on the walls of the room, and yet two more different (solid) colors on the bed, to the bad layout, the ugly carpeting in the hallways and under the bed (and why under the bed? Why not bring it out into the room where texture and color was needed?). The blue behind the bed was a great color. If that color had been brought around the base of the room, that alone would help create more cohesive look. The grouping of the three pictures above the red chair was a nice. The bedside lamps were also nice. The bathroom was small, but nice. Unfortunately, they have not moved to a more eco-friendly system of not having single use disposable toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc) but hopefully they will get on board with that very soon. Not only is it more eco-friendly, it will save the money. Most of this is just not great decorating that most people could live with for their stay, the bigger issue for anyone staying here is that unless you like a very firm bed, you may find the beds uncomfortable.
