Positives: Restaurant was great however pricey, but worth it.
Negatives: See above

room was very small, bathroom was even smaller, very noisy in halls and other rooms from guests but especially by staff. Asked for room upgrade and food basket in room at check-in neither was available or done.

Decided to stay here for a night after doing the Christmas Mansion tours. While the staff were very friendly and pleasant, overall I was not impressed with this hotel. Our room was tiny. The furniture and decor seemed tired and worn, and the bed skirt was stained. The big screen tv was hung awkwardly over the desk due to sloping ceilings and didn't have a DVD player, which is probably unimportant to most people. It was also limited on channels (did not even have a local New England sports channel). So no Christmas movie watching via the DVD player or Celtics game after dinner and drinks. The bathroom was tiny, like closet sized. The shower head didn't seem fastened tight enough to the pipe in the wall nor was the toilet fastened to the the floor and rocked when you got off it. I also didn't like the community soap/shampoo dispensers that everyone staying in these rooms are sharing. Kinda gross. The heating system was really loud, making it difficult to sleep. Don't lift the lid to the box housing the heat vent. It probably hasn't been cleaned in years and just looking at it made me think great, I'm breathing all that dust and junk in every time the heat turns on. The room offered $6 tiny bottles of water and a $6 delivery charge for room service. Not to mention the $16 resort fee, for amenities we didn't use (spa and pool, really?) Felt like this place was really nickle and diming you. The lobby decor was modern but odd and not fitting at all with the old brick facade of the hotel on the outside. There was a cheesy band playing really loud cover songs from the 80s in the bar which is pretty much in the lobby. The Christmas decorations were lacking. The people at reception were nice but I just wasn't impressed and didn't get a good feeling from this place. It wasn't pretty, clean or comfortable enough at all for the price. The location is great, right at the beginning of Bellevue with the mansions, center of town, great restaurants like Corner Cafe and the Mooring all right down the road.
