Cancelled my reservation, still charged and when I rang the hotel to speak with them they couldn't do anything because I booked through booking.com. Rang booking.com and they are still in the process of trying to cancel my booking and get a refund 4 days later. Not great communication between hotels and booking.com.

They took 200$ per person deposit, 400$ in total. After 6 days the deposit is still NOT back in my bank account. Scam policy from the hotel and booking who allow this method. In NO one rule here this is NOT mentioned! Disapointed and oppenig a dispute!

Crowne Plaza Downtown @ 1015 Elm St Dallas, Texas, is very run down. Caution tape all over the parking garage. Rooms smell like wet socks.
When arriving on the 14th of March for a yearly convention at another hotel, we were met with a very rude front desk lady. As we were informed of the deposit, while we were gathering our credit card. The lady advised us that we didn't have to stay at their hotel and we could leave. We were already tired from driving 5 hours and knew hotels near the event were booked. We had to stay there, unfortunately.
The staff are rude and the hotel is old, needs repairs.
We checked out on the 17th, and our deposit was to be released but still on hold with my bank. I have been calling since Monday for proof of the release. The front desk associates will not provide a receipt. They told me they could not provide this information. They placed a hold on my card, and they will not provide proof that they released the funds. After speaking with my bank, someone from the hotel manually placed another hold on my card for a different amount on the 20th. I am no longer in the city.
I have tried to resolve this issue, and now the last associate I spoke to over the phone today would not provide me with her name. She said, "You don't need to know my name. You can just tell Ana, the hotel supervisor, that you spoke to the woman from the front desk after she gets out of her meeting with the owner in 2 hours!" Today is March 22nd, and I have not resolved my issue with this hotel. They are rude, unprofessional, and don't provide the best hospitality like their website and hold music states.
I have reached out to the corporate office. Hopefully, they will help me. I was also trying to get owner information for this hotel, but no luck yet.
