The Statler is a cool concept with it being an older revitalized hotel in the heart of downtown Dallas. Check in & out was smooth and the hotel has a lot of amentias (pool, rooftop bar, speakeasy, breakfast, etc.). The rooms were comfortable and a good size, especially the bathroom & overall we had a good stay.
Negatives:
Unfortunately the charm of an older hotel also has its drawbacks, even though the hotel and rooms are redone parts of them still felt a little beat up, especially the lighting and electronics which didn't always work as intended. Also, during our two night stay no one came by to make up the room which was a disappointing.

The bourbon bar was exceptional! The food there and at breakfast was great. Nearly every employee was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a wonderful experience.
Negatives:
We were a little put off by our service at breakfast and did not like the feeling of having to purchase a bottle of water that was in the room, because we were not "members"?
