The desk could not find our reservation, and the woman began having an argument with my husband. He showed her the print-out of our reservation, and then she located it. The first room we were given smelled horrible. I called the front desk and the check-in person asked me "what is the smell?" I said she could come up to the room and smell it, but we wanted another room. When I returned to the lobby to get the key to another room, the woman slid the key to me without looking at me or addressing me. She needed an attitude check. This is no way to end a vacation and soured the remainder of our trip. Also, water pressure is low and it takes a long time to rinse off in the shower, especially if you have long or thick hair.

Negatives:
We traveled with our dog, and the $50 fee is charged and non-refundable for having the dog in our room. This is standard practice but unfair. If the hotel has our credit card, they could charge us if the dog was problematic. We were missing tissues and a waste basket. Staff gave us a mesh waste basket that was removed from the office, so we were unable to discard any wet items in this basket because we were not given a liner.

We were on a roadtrip and we ended up being farther away from Roanoke than we'd thought. I had done the online check-in, and I figured it was too late to cancel without forfeiting the entire room rate. I called the hotel just to see whether, by some chance, I could cancel and not be charged. Donna was so kind and accommodating, and she agreed to cancel the reservation and not charge me. I was so thankful as we were still hours away, and we were too tired to keep driving. Thanks so much, Donna!
