Positives:
Breakfast was good and lots of variety. Eating area could have been cleaner as we never saw anyone cleaning off tables or counters.
Negatives:
At check in the front desk staff were great and very helpful. On the first night we were given room 512 but the bed was so old and uncomfortable and the tv did not work so we switched rooms for the second night. Our new room was much better but I had left my nightlight in our old room. I asked the front desk girl if she could track it down while we had breakfast. When I checked out an hour later, I was told that the room was occupied with do not disturb so they wouldnt even try to retrieve it. She was very unapologetic and unconcerned. Apparently Radisson has just acquired the property so I hope things improve as cleanliness of hallways and stairwells needs to be addressed.

Not likely to stay at this hotel on our next trip to Fort St Johns unless improvements are made.

The whole hotel smelled strong of weed. It was terrible! When I tried to pay with debit they took 20 mins to try to figure out their system and I finally had to leave. They never figured it out and it just went to the credit card.

I will NEVER stay here again!
Positives:
the breakfast had lots of choice. quite adequate for a free breakfast and helpful for just getting back on the road. the rooms were clean, white sheets and duvets that looked and felt fresh. the hallways and public areas like elevators could use a bit more cleaning. it was good for our purposes which was to crash out while heading up to whitehorse.
Negatives:
we arrived at the back parking lot and it looked very rundown from the back, and i wondered what i had gotten us into. but it was much better when we arrived around the front, big welcoming lobby etc. booking.com said our special request was approved for a dog friendly room and there would be no extra charge... but the desk people said they always charge $25. which seems reasonable. booking.com and the hotel should figure this out.

Negatives:
I booked a whirlpool room which wasnt available and then the Internet didn't work. They made me take cash out of the atm and didn't have change in the morning to give me the money they owed me. I have 3 devices and it didn't work on any of them. The tub was plugged and I couldn't shower and the desk agent lied to me and made me wait 2 hours to hear I'm not a plumber what do you expect me to do when I asked to have it fixed. The GM never came to work on a Thursday and choice hotels did nothing to help me. I would have been better sleeping in my vehicle because the noise from the housekeepers and lack of amenities wasn't worth 10 bucks
