Positives:
Room was quiet, beds very comfortable and everything was clean and spacious. Easy access to Hop On Hop Off, which we always take advantage in every city we visit.

The fact there was a glass separating the bathroom and bedroom. There was of course a roll down curtain for privacy but it felt uncomfortable for us.

Everything.....this place is great! Whenever we go to a Canucks game, Whitecaps game or concert we try to stay here. Walking distance to everything. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and rooms are really nice. We had to wait a tiny bit for our room to be ready this time around, as it was a busy weekend downtown Vancouver, and they upgraded us by surprise! We highly recommend this hotel!

The bed in this room was not the most comfortable, kinda sank in in the middle, but after a night out at a concert it didn't bother us too much.

The staff were great, really pleasant and responsive. If staying at a hotel was just about nice staff, this place would get five stars, however...
Negatives:
The room just did not match the price or the designation (self-imposed, I assume) of "top luxury hotel". Not even close, and we've stayed in a lot of good hotels.
It was cramped, had no bath, the beds were not very comfortable (subjective, I know) and the towels and linens were old and scratchy (two of our towels were actually threadbare). I asked for a blanket and it arrived with long black hairs and other debris on it. Gross! The toilet made a weird screeching noise when it was flushed and to top it off there was no on-demand streaming service - we were told we could borrow an HDMI cable. The balcony that we were told we had to upgrade to because it would "be much nicer for your dog" was a sad little concrete block that was totally fenced off from the adjacent weed patch. Not sure how that was supposed to benefit our dog but it didn't warrant the price hike for this "compulsory upgrade".
None of these things are all that serious in themselves, but they added up to create a decidedly lacklustre stay at what could only be described as luxury hotel prices.
