The Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Resort & Spa

Negatives: Common areas are dirty and run down. Restaurant is only so-so, echoey cafeteria-like. Same minimal menu in both restaurants - come on, have some variety. Rooms are like an old motor hotel from the 60's. Charging $29 to watch a movie? Seriously? Why can't I stream Netflix on the TV's in my $400 room? Parking for $30 a day? Seriously? Robbery. So, basically, dirty, run down, and highway robbery.

Negatives: No swimming pool, hot tub close too early

Negatives: Pillows on the bed weren’t comfortable. Sheets were stiff. There wasn’t anywhere to sit outside. Such a beautiful view and it could only be enjoyed from the restaurant or our balcony. We were lucky to have a balcony overlooking the golf course so we could sit out there but it would have been better to also have a place to lounge outside on the property. A pool would be a great addition to the property. We upgraded our room so we could enjoy the golf course view but had to pay an extra $50 per night.

Negatives: Lumpy bed, dogs were in adjoining room and room from across the hall and were barking at each other and howling. Dogs barked every time I made a move in my room. I told front staff and no one cared. Shower was very low flow.

Negatives: 1) I asked the bartender if the kitchen knew how to butter baste a steak, he went to confirm and came back to reassure me they could do that. When my meal was delivered it was not cooked that way. my friend had his dinner eaten by the time mine was delivered. 2) when we inquired about a hot tub after dinner, we were told there was only one at the community center and we had to pay extra for it, they were closing soon too. 3) When I went to shower, there was no shampoo in the shower and I had to get out to call the front desk and wait for it to get brought to my room. 4) the linens on the bed were quite stiff and not comfortable at all (felt crunchy) 5) at breakfast I was charged $8 for a decaf coffee. (outrageous price). 6) When leaving the hotel, I came down with all my luggage in hand and asked for the bell service and the golf cart to take us to our motorcycles. To which I was informed that there was nobody to help with that and I we would have to carry our stuff across the property and down the stairs to the the bottom floor of the parkade. I feel it was a very overpriced experience and the value did not represent the price.

Negatives: the pool & hot tub not working and the pass they have is not for next door but like a 15 min drive away
