Positives:
The hotel had newer updated rooms and bathrooms, good beds, very clean.
Negatives:
The clock radio kept beeping and wouldn't stop even when unplugged so I gave it to the front desk, the breakfast is stone cold so I microwaved it and they allow dogs and two were barking at night for hours and hours. It sounded like they needed help.

Positives:
The breakfast was very good, great options.
Negatives:
Unfortunately the Bistro/Pub was not available, due to staffing situation. Having stayed there before was one of the reasons I booked it again.

Exceptional
Positives:
Mostly OK, no major complaints
Negatives:
Vending machines not working, and even if they did the selection was poor, plus you needed coins in this almost cashless society. Loss of income to the hotel. Only other option was to get in car and drive, and after a long day of driving it is easier to go hungry

OK
Positives:
The location was close to the attractions I was interested in. The breakfast was adequate and the staff worked very hard. My room was fine, the bed was fine the pillows were not comfortable.
Negatives:
Everything was very good overall and the front desk person explained why daily housekeeping service was not being provided. I did ask for more towels and it was not a problem to get them.

My stay was everything that I expected.
Positives:
The beds were very comfortable.
Negatives:
Our TV didn't have a remote control. Had to return to lobby to ask for one. After synchronizing it, it still wouldn't work so had to call check in and have maintenance bring another. Still didn't work. So he went to get the instruction manual- finally success but waisted 30 minutes of our time.
Shower, TV, Heating/AC dated...

Best Western Orillia
Positives:
Due to many changes we were forced to make for a recent trip to Algonquin Park and other places we usually visit during the early fall, we were forced to make last minute reservations in a place and a hotel chain that we don't use on regular basis. The hotel is close to the water, about 10 minutes from Mississauga Street, where the restaurants on the area are mostly centered. Unfortunately, the first impression is not good as it is beside the road, behind an abandoned restaurant with an unfortunate name and an even more unfortunate and abandoned parking lot. It's not the hotel's fault but they have to live with the consequences.
The place is all you would expect from a Best Western: modest and simple. The area is sort of industrial and the proper downtown is further ahead. The rooms are OK, the bathrooms idem, clean and adequately equipped, with enough towels and good toiletries. The beds are surprisingly comfortable. Even my spouse - who's very picky in that area - enjoyed an excellent night of sleep.
The staff is courteous, friendly and rapidly solved a problem with the air condition. Also, we forgot a cardigan in the room and called the hotel to check whether they had found it out and they already had it ready for us to pick up. Thank you so much.
Breakfast was the biggest surprise of our stay. The buffet is ample, the options varied both in terms of hot and cold dishes and sweet and savoury stuff. Personally, I suffer from a severe lactose intolerance and cow milk protein allergy, so I find myself limited when having breakfast at hotels. I was gladly surprised when I found out lactose free yogurt and almond milk were available. Thank you so much once more.
The hotel is pet friendly, which is always nice even if we don't have pets.
Negatives:
You seriously need a new selection of pillows. They are frankly bad. We travel with our own so it was no problem but not everybody does.
