Positives: Staff were generally friendly especially the cleaners, the pool was heated which was nice to know unfortunately I didn't use it.
Negatives: Staff were generally friendly but with reception staff it depended on who you got to serve you, some were impatient. The lifts were cumbersome as sometimes it wouldn't recognise your room key to allow floor selection and it often meant you couldn't take the same lift with colleagues. The pool was small and by the time I found it I was leaving. The reception also didn't indicate that there was access through the basement to the train station and other streets and it would have been useful to know this earlier to avoid the snow outside which was slippery sometimes. The bathroom was way too tiny, I had to keep the toilet cover down to avoid things falling into the toilet. The air conditioning was also a bit frustrating being too hot or too cold. There was no option for just a normal fridge without having to call for one to be provided. The hotel restaurants were always full and it was difficult to get a timely booking. There was no turn-down service. You've asked about Sugar Beach I didn't even know it was close, the hotel did not mention it or any other sites to see.

Positives: Loved the underground shops, restaurants, pathways to other venues ( e.g. Scotiabank Arena). Enjoyed just sitting in the lobby of the Royal York taking in the stunning Christmas decor. Hotel staff was amazing, very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Was just a wonderful weekend getaway.
