Residence Inn by Marriott Whitby

Negatives: The lighting in the living room of the apartment was flickering. Not a major issue but a little irritating.

Negatives: The price was way to expensive. If I would of waited and booked a little later I would of saved $130. Lesson learned, no more reservations with booking.com. I should of booked directly with the establishement.

Negatives: There was one staff who did have an attitude from the start. She checked us in. She was very annoyed we used a third party site which I can understand but could have been worded more kindly. They didn’t have the room we booked so she had asked us to cancel our reservation and pay through their hotel at a more expensive price for the bigger room. I told her I could not cancel my reservation as the cancellation date had passed but she would have to on their end. Then we would go to another hotel at a better rate. She “upgraded” us but was very visibly and verbally mad about the whole thing. The room did have a broken toilet paper holder, but totally not a big deal. The toilet also does not flush well as a heads up. Very little pressure even struggled with urine. I was not a fan of the mattress protector. I am a paranoid person when it comes to the risk of bed bugs or germ transference. The protector is like a sheet and didn’t fully cover the mattress sides. It’s just a preference to have a fully encasing protector and they’re so cheap I’m a little disappointed they didn’t have this. It seemed very cheap. But no signs of any issues or cleanliness concerns in the room. The pool on the other hand was visibly dirty. There were some particles floating, lots of hair elastics and random bits on the bottom of the pool floor, dirtiness around around the chairs.
