The room smelled horrible, old mold, mildew, smoke smell,I couldn’t breathe and I think I have a respiratory infection after walking in the room. The front desk attendant was on some thing.

The rooms are outdated and smelled like stale smoke.

Positives:
The staff was friendly.
Negatives:
The room was really loud - not from anybody directly in the hotel but from outside. It sounded like we were next to a freeway and the windows are only single paned glass.
Positives:
Historic, nice common areas, well decorated, clean, quiet, safe. The valet parking downtown is nice.
Negatives:
It’s in an area where there are no places to eat, have a drink without walking a good ways, which would work, but the dining room closed at eight and the bar at nine.

Positives:
the staff was very friendly! the building ITSELF was very unique and well kept. the breakfast was really good. a lot of choices!
Negatives:
The dinner at the restaurant was NOT worth the money they charge. My pork chop was extremely tough, my husband’s sandwich was 20$ for something I could have slapped together my self and my son’s shrimp and grits was poorly thrown together. Looks like the CHEF just threw some frozen shrimp into some grits. Also, I don’t understand why they would want to try to modernize the restaurant when the rest of the building is unique and antique. They lost brownie points for that.

Positives:
Breakfast was great. Really appreciate that it was included with the room and the options available were great. Staff was helpful and friendly. Loved the location and the old historic feeling.
Negatives:
Free on site parking would have made the stay tho the street side was easy and safe.
