Beautiful stay
Positives:
We ran the Hannover half marathon and stayed at the Mercure Hotel City. Basically just a stones throw from the start of the run.
The room was spacious, the beds firm, the shower as you would wish it.
Really friendly staff, despite the stress of an event weekend. And a wonderful bonus of a late checkout.
I can really recommend this hotel.

My upgraded room was lovely. The minibar, bathrobe and coffee machine made the room extra comfortable. There was a great choice of foods at breakfast, including 5 different types of eggs and the smoked salmon was delicious. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful indeed.

The first room we got was on the last attic floor, very small and dark. Also there was a heavy ventilation sound so we needed to change it for another room. The second one was great though, it even had a terrace.

The location is very nice and safe. Very close to the city center, lake, park and museum. Also very comfortable to get most of the public transportation.
Negatives:
We stayed during the trade fair at Hannover Messe so the price was more than double as usual so very much higher than the quality of the hotel
The Hotel building and room facilities are very old, looks of the 70's so that the room was not very warm enough and the bath room which seemed had been reformed some years ago but too essential both the temperature and comfort were too cold. We found a bugs in the room one alive and one dead so told to the reception to make careful cleaning but we found bugs during the second night. We haven't open the window as it was -6 degrees outside so we afraid that the bugs are living in the room...
TV does not support international program. The room was dark.
It is a pity for this hotel at such a nice location be left such an old style.
