Negatives: View was not good.

Negatives: There were many things that I wasn't happy with, I have never left a bad review or comment for any hotel that we have stayed in the past 30 years. Unfortunately, this happened to be ONE. To begin with the check-in process, the check-in staff were great, but we were given key cards that did not work. we had to go back down to exchange the key card. As we were waiting for the new key card, I noticed the sign to my right that said, "Pet Friendly." Im okay with that. we returned to the 3rd floor and walked into a very nice room, but as we walked further in, there was a foul odor coming from the left side of the bed in the corner. It smelled like feces / urine. the bathroom also smelled like cigarette smoke. On the sliding shower door tracks was rust. while sleeping the room next door to us had a dog that would bark through out the night. at this hotel, breakfast was included, which was good, but the young lady who was in charge of stocking and cleaning the dining area was in the back the whole time. I had looked through the open kitchen door to ask for coffee creamer, I must have startled her because she was on her phone. the dining area was not so full. She could've made an effort to some what clean up as customers would get up and leave. I was not the only one going to the kitchen door to ask for some type of assistance while having breakfast. Finally, the hotel is in a beautiful area. the green landscape all over, and the view of the mountains was gorgeous. but the smell of the PURINA factory was across the freeway. instead of clean, fresh air, you had a nose full of PURINA pet food. As a Hampton Inn Suites, I expect the best. My family and I had a bad experience 30-plus years ago with the smaller motels and hotels. I made a promise to my family that we would never stay in those types of hotels in a bad environment. I'm willing to pay extra to keep my family comfortable, safe, and to have peace of mind as we stay in these hotels.

Negatives: The desk chair just about killed me tilting backwards unexpectedly, plus the seat had almost no cushion. We were not aware that we would be charged $15 for “parking”, which is absurd considering the cost per night, the added taxes over and above the room rate, and that it was nothing more than a simple parking space.
