Red Lion Inn & Suites Goodyear

Positives: The night clerk who checked us in was lovely. We needed a room with two queen beds and were given a room with one bed and a pull out sofa, but she fixed it immediately with no issues. The breakfast was good. Eggs delicious, biscuits great, but they were playing Fox News really loudly in the breakfast room. It's 2024, folks. Lay off the politics. Put on the weather channel or something else innocuous. They did not have a sugar alternative at breakfast and when I went back to my room to get my own, I could not open the door. It was flashing green, but it would not open. Apparently, when the door closes, it can accidentally cause the dead bolt to activate, so the room was deadbolted from the inside with no one in it. However, this happens so often, the staff have a makeshift tool they used to jimmy open the deadbolt. This really needs to be fixed. Not just the broken lock, but the ability to jimmy open a deadbolt. The whole idea of a deadbolt is it can't be opened from Also, the shower itself was great, but it was a deep jacuzzi tub with a shower head, so there was a good eight inches of very hight tub that had to be stepped over, and the inside of the tub curved inwards making it more of a ten inch thing that needed to be clambered over. Oerall, it was a clean hotel with a good breakfast, but it has some issues that need to be dealth with.

Positives: They called me too tell me I'd left my USB-C cable in the room and offered to mail it to me. WOW, now that's service and integrity!
