Positives:
First time staying in Scottsdale and this hotel was perfect. It's a very large resort with several pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, and many other amenities. The location was great, only a short drive to Old Town and hiking trails. We had an issue with our first room, but they were nice enough to upgrade us to a nicer room right next to the pool. Staff overall were very friendly and helpful, and room service was very quick with a nice menu to choose from.
Negatives:
Daily housekeeping service was nice, however the cleaning could be more meticulate, as we found some items under the night stand from previous guests. Furniture and lighting in the room was a bit outdated. The water temperature in the hot tub was luke warm at night.

That they allowed a con-artist on the property knowingly knowing about him harass the guests and until asked to do something about no staff stepped up and asked him to leave - he was aggressive in his pitch to get money and made fun of guests sad state of affairs when we called the front desk they said they knew exactly who we were talking about and would send security

The room. It was dated, dark and dingy. Generally clean but if one looked at the walls, doors there was unclean areas. We were not a fan of our room.

Fantastic location near tons of restaurants and amenities. We had to book two separate stays due to Final Four in town and they were great about helping move our bags and such to the new room while we were away. Great pools, tennis courts, etc.

Absolutely beautiful resort with plenty of swimming and outdoor recreational activities. The restaurants were great and the room was spacious. Having multiple sinks, mirrors, and a large bathroom dressing room was very nice! I can't say enough about how gorgeous the grounds are.

The towels are small and very scratchy.

Positives:
The villas were large with a patio and balcony. They have the biggest bathrooms. The beds were comfy with lots of types of pillows to choose from. The breakfast divine! We choose to stay close to the airport and close to family. There are tons of shops and restaurants close by too!
Negatives:
There were attached villas and you could hear the person next door as if they were in the same room. So, if this kind of noise bothers you this would not be the place for you. I am not sure about the other kinds of rooms. It is off a busy road but once you are in there you do not notice it. The place is older but really wonderful value overall.
