Positives:
We did not eat the breakfast, but did browse it & it looked to be ok. We were in a hurry for an appointment & just wanted a banana (they were out). There were breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, eggs, cereal, the usual type of hotel breakfast bar.
Andrew - check-in clerk was very patient & courteous with us. He took time explaining all of the CASH deposit policies & hotel rules.
Patti - really went above & helped us get our room inspected early so we could get our deposit returned without us having to drive back to this hotel (essentially saving us 2 more hours of driving). Extremely professional, personable & understanding.
Negatives:
We were really surprised by the $150 cash deposit — in fairness it is posted on the website, but easily missed. What is posted on the website differs from the form you sign upon check-in. The CASH deposit policy is NOT listed in the website, so very misleading. This is the policy stated in the form we received upon check-in
1) Refundable upon checking out between 9am-11am
2) Earlier check outs may not have personnel there to inspect your room & refund your deposit, which would require you to return to the hotel to collect your cash deposit
3) Your deposit is forfeited if not collected within 24 hours from checkout
4) This CASH deposit is ONLY required by what the hotel considers locals. So if you live East side (Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, etc) it’s not required. We live in Estrella Mountain Ranch (1 hr drive West & we’re considered local?). I guess non-locals don’t damage property? Seems discriminatory to me!!
5) Only the person who booked the room can collect the deposit. Even though every room guest has their license photo copied, & my husband handed the cash to the clerk, he could not collect the deposit.
We had read reviews of the noisy road & train tracks, but booked this hotel due to an early doctor appointment nearby. The train came by 5 times after 8pm, so just be aware when you are reserving this hotel. We were ok with the earplugs, but others may not be.

I liked the free complimentary breakfast,as well as the small appliance amenities in the room. The bed was very comfy, the shower pressure was great. The price is great.
Negatives:
The pool area is very small and cramped, the walls near the room entrance are super thin, and the hotel is right next to Grand Ave, which has tons of loud, noisy traffic almost constantly, night and day.
