Positives:
Our room in the 5th floor was large and it included a small balcony and 3 sinks, a live/work/lounge area that could be shut off from bedroom area, with good sound insulation from inside and outside noises, and it overlooked a lovely large lovely atrium. The restaurant was a little pricey but the food was very good and the complimentary breakfast bar was generally well done. Although the room rate was a little high, it was good value and much better than some of the other similarly priced competing hotels we had stayed in before around the airport.
Negatives:
Having an airport shuttle was important in our booking, and we did not have the problems that some of the other reviews mentioned about the shuttle service. However, while shuttle service from the hotel operated on a regular 30 minute schedule from 4:30am to 10am and from 7pm to 11:30pm, it was only hourly from 11am to 6pm, having to call for pickup from the airport was a little odd, and having a shuttle service that did not operate from 11:30pm to 4:30 pm was even odder. After all the bad reviews left about the shuttle service, you would think that the management would bite the bullet and absorb the cost of providing their own (not 3rd party) shuttle service which operated on the half-hour 24/7 like most other competing hotels. Also, providing a few small additional disposable room amenities such as extra cups, toothbrushes, shower caps, etc. would have been a nice touch, and our conditioner bottle in the shower was empty. None of these things were deal-killers for us.

Overall, a great place, better than expected. We will stay here again next time we're at LAX.

It's somewhere i've stayed before and I would stay there again.Pleasant atmosphere

ES has always been a reliable and comfortable stay, going back to my days of business travel. After 10+ years of selecting less expensive options for personal travel, I was happy to see they haven't lost their touch. Conveniently located near LAX, it allowed us not to worry about making a 9:50 am International departure the next day. Suite-style rooms provide plenty of space, comfortable beds, and a very acceptable breakfast option, too. This location also has an evening reception that includes complimentary drinks & nibbles, which we didn't partake.
Negatives:
The LAX South property is a bit further away from the airport so you need to rely on their shuttle that only runs every 30 minutes. Be sure to call as soon as you've got your luggage so they know they have a pickup - even though we followed the directions, we ended up waiting for over 1 hour to get picked up (the actual commute time is less than 15 minutes!). Getting to back to the airport wasn't a problem at all.
